Armour of invincibility
or
How your clothes can help you achieve what you want
even if you make two zeros less that your looks might suggest

Fair warning: 2 minute read on how your appearances can get you treatment you deserve
There are days when I look like a hot mess crossed with a DNA accident.
Then there are days when my husband of 20 odd years comes home from work, says hi, and while he is still at the door hanging his coat, he mentions that the Teal dress I am wearing struck a cord. Then we have a nice evening.

There are also situations when a pompous jerk tries to convince me over the phone that I, a subhuman with an accent, must have misunderstood his words, so he can justly overcharge me by 65%.
And then there are moments when I enter a room with a smile on my face, wearing my perfectly fitting red jacquard jacket that feels like an armor of invincibility and all heads instantly lift up from keyboards and screens stay up as I walk up to that pompous jerk to meet him in person and look him in the eye. If looks could kill, he would be pulverized before I reach the border of his personal space. And he feels my energy. Because at that moment, without saying a word, I look like I am in the mentally-pulverizing-humans-for-overcharging business and that I dominate my niche in a 4000 mile radius. Then we settle the matter in a friendly atmosphere.
And other times I get such an incredible deal or an otherwise unexpected upgrade reserved for A-players only because I back up my words with my appearance of an A-player.
Or is it the other way around?
What if your outward appearance could set the stage before you utter a single word?
What if you could be instantly perceived as an A-player of your industry?
What if you could be treated better, pampered with attention and spoiled with extras just because you look like you are used to it?
What if you could gain instant trust of your audiences and get the respect you deserve for your expertise simply because you look the part?
You may think that it is all in my head only.
And you would be right.
But that feeling of invincibility comes with looking invincible.
Or trustworthy.
Or this-is-her-standard-so-we-will-give-it-to-her.
Like it or not,
people do and will judge you by your appearances.
Not because they are mean but because this is what we, humans, do! Instinctively. Biology 101.
We are wired to assess others’ appearances to determine what our next step will be.
So when they see you, especially for the first time, they decide, if you deserve the upgrade or not.
If they can trust you or not.
If they will go out of their way to return the favour and create the best impression on you with their services or not.
People love to be near style, class, elegance, success, prestige, and perfection.
People want to find their leaders, their idols, their role models.
To look up to them.
To learn from them.
To emulate them.
Be that role model.
Look like that role model.
Dress like that role model.
So that they can look at you with interest and respect.
So that you can attract a circle of people that will pull you up.
So that you can seduce who you want to seduce with looks that would make a saint sin.
No matter how old you are.
No matter how educated you are.
No matter how tall or short you are.
Just because you decided to.
